This week, we’ve made significant strides in developing The Mirror of the Soul, particularly with interactive elements and dynamic choice systems. Below are highlights of our latest progress:
The eerie entrance to the manor is now functional, complete with a subtle audio cue to set the tone as players step into this haunting world. Using the door_interaction
screen, players will feel the atmospheric suspense as they decide whether to cross the threshold.
We’ve enhanced player agency by introducing context-sensitive choices:
- Explore options: Players can investigate key areas such as side tables, staircases, and windows, each leading to unique story beats and lore discoveries.
- Action clarity: Choices are accompanied by intuitive visual cues like hover effects, keeping the interface immersive without overwhelming players.
Post-puzzle interactions deepen the narrative with the introduction of Elena, a central figure in the mystery. Her presence is brought to life through responsive dialogue options and beautifully animated button transitions.
The mirror interaction system has been upgraded to include branching paths, allowing players to:
- Touch the mirror and dive deeper into their inner fears and desires.
- Step back, choosing caution over curiosity. This choice not only impacts the immediate scene but sets the stage for long-term narrative consequences.
Episode 2
Episode 2 is coming together with new areas to explore:
- Bedroom: Search through remnants of a troubled past.
- Old Desk: Discover hidden letters and objects pivotal to the storyline.
- Elena’s Dialogue: Gain insight into the enigmatic character who seems to know more than she lets on.
Every location is designed to immerse players further into the unsettling atmosphere of the manor, while choices in this chapter will ripple into future events.
To maintain a cohesive and chilling tone, we’ve layered ambient sounds and hover animations across all interactions, enhancing the immersive gothic experience. Whether it’s the creak of a door or the faint rustle of leaves outside a window, every detail matters in creating this chilling world.
